EVA+ project promotes the construction of charging piles and transportation infrastructure in Italy and Austria

Electric Vehicle Arteries (EVA +) electric car project is carried out in Italy and Austria, has signed a licensing agreement with the European Commission commissioned innovation and network executive body (INEA), involving an amount of 420 million euros. EVA+ will be officially launched in Brussels in January 2017.

EVA+ project promotes the construction of charging piles and transportation infrastructure in Italy and Austria

Coordinator - Enel of Italy and Verbund, a major Austrian power company, are assisting the project and are actively cooperating with the world's largest automakers (Renault, Nissan, BMW and the two brands representing Volkswagen and Audi). The Volkswagen Group's Italian company) aims to build and provide the infrastructure needed for electric vehicles for major roads and highways in Italy and Austria. As part of the implementation of the Italian EVA+ project, Enel has also signed agreements with motorway concession holders to upgrade the project's technological innovations and commercial components.

In the three years of project promotion, 200 multi-standard fast charging stations will be built, each of which can provide charging services of various standard types (CSS Combo 2, CHAdeMO or AC charging). The project also includes 200 charging piles, 180 of which are fast-charging charging piles (this technology is completely developed by Enel, which can charge two cars at the same time, can be fully charged in 20 minutes, and allows up to 360 electric vehicles to be charged at the same time. ). The installation of the above equipment in Italy will be carried out by Enel, and the installation of the remaining 20 charging piles will be carried out by Verbund's SMATRICS, which is located in Austria and is also able to provide charging piles that meet various fast charging standards.

Testing of technological innovations will take place soon, while also analysing user expectations and needs in order to better install charging stations. In order to achieve connectivity in metropolitan areas and ensure fast charging of fast electric vehicles in line with international standards, EVA+ will also ensure interoperability of automotive charging equipment throughout Europe, enabling users in Italy and Austria to travel long distances in a sustainable manner. EU countries.

As the power sector and automakers work closely together on the project, all parties have a strong willingness to develop electric vehicles in Italy and across borders, and the EVA+ project has also played a significant strategic role in the future development of Italian electric vehicles.

The European Commission has funded the EVA+ project through the ConnecTIng Europe Facility (CEF) project, with a 50% stake. The project also contributed to the European Commission in favor of pan-European transport network (Trans-European Transport Network, TEN-T) to achieve the project, the project aims to promote the construction of transportation infrastructure construction and modernization, the integration of the two countries Italy and Austria The fast charging network finally realized the completion of the charging network throughout Europe.
