The circuit is composed of a power supply circuit, a display driving circuit, a pulse generating circuit and a current direction indicating circuit. In the circuit diagram, the above NE555 and V, R3, RP1 and C2, C4 constitute a multi-vibrator that drives the forward display. The following NE555 and R4, R5, RP2, and C3, C5 form a multivibrator that drives the reverse display. RP1 and RP2 are used to adjust the frequency of the multivibrator. Two oscillators are used to generate clock pulses, which are respectively applied to the CP terminal (14 pins) of the corresponding counter CD4017.
When the CP terminal of IC1 has a clock pulse input, its output terminals Q0 to Q9 sequentially output a high level, so that the two-color LEDs are sequentially turned on and emit red light, indicating that the current flows in the forward direction.
When the CP terminal clock pulse of IC2 is input, its output terminals Q0 to Q9 also output a high level in turn, so that the two-color LEDs are turned on in reverse order and emit green light, indicating that the current flows in the reverse direction.
