Seoul Semiconductor Co., Ltd. has introduced a high-power white LED directly driven by the available mains (110V or 220V) under the name "AcrIChe". Its power is 2W and 4W, and its appearance is the same as that of a general high power 1~3W LED. There are also structures in which a star-shaped structure is mounted on an aluminum substrate. This kind of high-power white LED that can be directly driven by the mains is very popular.

The Acriche high-power white LED works in the same way as in Figure 4, except that it is a component that is connected in series with the die of many low-power blue LEDs, and then coated with a yellow phosphor to form a white LED. So the size is not big. A 4W high power white LED consists of four positive and negative series connected in parallel, as shown in the figure below. The Acriche high-power white LED is an LED module, but its shape is the same as a typical 1~3W white LED. LED lamps, which are composed of such high-power white LEDs, can replace incandescent lamps and fluorescent lamps, and will form a new generation of lamps.

A 4W high power white LED consists of 4 units connected in series with each other.

Acriche's characteristics and applications

The main features of Acriche: direct drive from the mains, no external AC/DC converter or drive circuit; working voltages of 100VAC, 110VAC, 220VAC and 230VAC, long working life, more than 35,000 hours; working frequency 50/60Hz.

The module is mainly used in general lighting, architectural lighting, street lighting, home lighting, decorative lighting and signal lights.
