According to foreign media reports, Intel announced the first quarter of 2014 financial report on Tuesday. The financial report showed that Intel’s net profit for the first quarter was US$1.9 billion, a decrease of 5% year-on-year. Revenue for the first quarter was US$ 12.8 billion, up 1% year-on-year. Intel’s first-quarter earnings per share were 38 cents, which exceeded analysts’ expectations. According to Yahoo Finance's survey, analysts predict Intel's first-quarter earnings per share is 37 cents.

From the perspective of receivables, Intel Client Division continues to make the greatest contribution to the company's bottom line. Intel said that the department’s first-quarter receivable was $7.9 billion, a decrease of only 1% year-on-year. Even better, due to the increase in the average sales price, the sales volume of processors was roughly the same as that of the same period of last year. The sales of desktop computer processors were flat with the same period of last year, and the average selling price increased by 4%. Sales of laptop processors and chipsets increased by 2%, while average selling prices fell by 8%.
Intel Data Center Division’s revenue for the first quarter was US$3.1 billion, an increase of 11% year-on-year. The average selling price of Xeon processors and other components rose by 8%.
Intel’s mobile and communications division’s first-quarter revenue was US$156 million, a decrease of 62% year-on-year. Intel’s IoT revenue for the first quarter was US$482 million, a year-on-year increase of 32%.
Intel forecasts second-quarter revenue of $13 billion (positive and negative error of $500 million), an increase of 2% from the first quarter.
