According to the Wall Street Journal, an Intel spokesperson said that the company has set up a new technology group that integrates a large number of research and product development businesses.
The spokesperson said that the new technology group will be responsible for the business activities previously undertaken by the new equipment group, the general manager is the company's vice president Mike Bell. Prior to joining Intel in 2010, Bell led product development activities at Apple and Palm.
Wearables have always been one of the top technologies developed by Brian Krzanich since Intel. Intel missed the smartphone and the initial tablet heat, and Kecchi has expressed its determination to get involved in the wearable device market in time.
The spokesman said that the head of the new technology group will be the company's senior vice president Joshua Walden. The New Technology Group will absorb the new business project group, which is responsible for the development of other products beyond the core chip.
