The 'Cannes' series of intelligent terminal system chips (STiH312, STiH310, STiH305) can meet a variety of market needs, from a wide range of high-value premium content support to highly integrated cost-optimized solutions. Based on ARM multi-core processors, this family offers superior computing performance, outstanding 2D/3D graphics performance, a hardware video encoder with integrated pre-processing, and Faroudja® enhanced video processing. The series also integrates PCIeTM with Wi-Fi connectivity, smart card interface, two 6Gbit/s Gen 3 eSATA interfaces, and a comprehensive security toolbox for USB 2/3, low power mode and high value content delivery.
The STiH312 will enable next-generation set-top boxes to play HEVC HD streaming content over low-speed broadband connections, including 2160p (also known as Ultra HD UltraHD or UHD) content, realistic images, and immersive presence, dramatically improving the end user's visual experience. . The 'Monaco' series provides an economical and fully functional solution for server applications such as home gateways. The ST Faroudja® transcoding engine is the best transcoder in its class for multi-screen audiovisual experiences on consumer electronics and handheld devices. This technology allows operators to reduce network bandwidth while providing high quality services at home. The 'Monaco' range includes 'UltraHD' STiH412 and cost optimized (STiH407 and STiH410).
Both series of products offer a competitive advantage for set-top box manufacturers, from supporting HD cost-optimized chips to full-featured chips that support UltraHD. The two series offer a full line of product lines based on the existing STiH315 and STiH416 ('Orly') system chips.
