Toshiba will close part of Japan's four lighting factories to move to mainland China

Toshiba Lighting & Technology announced on the 11th that a press release announced that it plans to close four of its lighting-related products this year (before the end of March 2013) in order to enhance cost competitiveness. TLT has a total of seven factories in Japan.

According to TLT, the planned closure of the project is the Changjing Plant (which mainly produces LED bulbs and special-purpose white heat bulbs), the Tsukuba Plant (which mainly produces residential lighting fixtures), and the Ibaraki Plant (which mainly produces lighting metal parts/resin parts). ) and the Yamagata factory (mainly producing lighting power circuits).

TLT pointed out that after the closure of the above four plants, its production capacity will be moved to the Luuma factory and the production base of the Chinese mainland "Harry Sheng Toshiba Lighting (Kunshan)". According to the Nikkei report, in order to improve cost competitiveness, the TLT Japan factory will mainly produce special order products in the future, and the general lighting products will be moved to mainland China for production. The Nikkei pointed out that TLT plans to increase its revenue to 260 billion yen in 2014 (2011 revenue of 193.6 billion yen).
