When will the OLED market start up under the LED hot background?

OLED is what we call the organic light-emitting diode. It gets rid of the limitation that LED can only grow on inorganic materials such as GaN-based, which makes it possible to further reduce the cost after OLED popularization.

Thanks to the breakthrough of small and medium-sized AMOLED display technology represented by Samsung and Korea, the products have been applied on mobile phones, voice recorders, mp3 and mp4 displays. Various international manufacturers have also released the latest OLED transparent display, OLED large-size TV and OLED lamps at this year's show, but still have not heard the news of official listing.

From the current state of the art, there are still many breakthroughs in the large-scale application of OLEDs from the market, but the pace of OLED layout by international manufacturers has not weakened.

According to the reporter, at present, Osram, GE, Tridonic, Philips, Samsung, LG, Panasonic, Sony, Mitsubishi Chemical, Toshiba and other international companies have already stepped into the OLED field, involving lighting, panels, displays and other products. The Taiwanese manufacturers are not to be outdone, and Chi Mei and AUO have also announced their technological breakthroughs in AMOLED display. Domestic manufacturers have only released several small and medium-sized AMOLED display samples and OLED lamps over the years. Most manufacturers will release the release date next year.

OLED lighting is still in the incubation period

Samsung and LG's OLED "patent war" highlights its absolute leading position in OLED display technology. Even some insiders admit that if you want to ask when OLED TV can really be introduced to the market, I am afraid that only Samsung knows the answer. But in the field of OLED lighting, the oligarchic phenomenon has not yet appeared, and all manufacturers have a bargaining chip.

From a technical point of view, European, American, Japanese and Korean manufacturers still lead domestic manufacturers in the overall technology of OLED. According to the reporter, at present, only Tsinghua University and South China University of Technology have well-equipped OLED laboratories, but there is still a certain distance from commercial applications.

At present, the cooperation between Visionox and Tsinghua University has made a certain breakthrough in OLED, and they have always had an advantage in PMOLED display. In December 2011, they released a 12-inch AMOLED TV sample. Domestic Rainbow Group's small and medium-sized OLED panels have begun mass production and sales, and began to cooperate with some 3C manufacturers in mainland China and Taiwan.

In addition to the display field, the call for OLED lighting in these years is very loud, but most of them stay in the stage of R&D and small-scale trial production.

At present, many foreign companies including Chi Mei, AUO, and Toshiba of Japan are only in the research and development stage of OLED lighting, and there is no big effort to lay out the OLED lighting industry.

Osram, which has already achieved mass production, has only placed research and development at its headquarters in Germany. Ou Shilang LED product marketing director Guan Shijing introduced that the company's OLED lighting products currently only have a desk lamp and an office lamp. Although these two lamps have previously won the 2011 Red Dot Award and the German Design Award, they are currently only used for creative design of designers and have not established a dedicated sales team.

In China, only Visionox has released samples of OLED chandeliers and reading lamps. Nanjing First Organic Optoelectronics has clearly stated that it will invest a large number of OLED lighting products in trial production next year.

The advent of power electronics has made replacement of DC motors with AC motors possible in many applications.
