AMD processor price cuts across the board

At the same time as the flagship quad-core Phenom II X4 980 BE black box version was released, AMD also cut prices across its Phenom II and Athlon II series of desktop processors.

The price reduction involves as many as 27 different models, covering Athlon II dual-core, triple-core, quad-core, Phenom II dual-core, quad-core, and six-core, with an average price reduction of 11.6%.

The most fierce energy-saving version of the high-end quad-core Phenom II X4 905e, the original price of 165 US dollars, and now straight down to 100 US dollars, a decline of almost 40%. Several other energy-saving versions of Phenom II X4 910e, Athlon II X4 605e, and Athlon II X3 405e also have significant price reductions.

At the very least are the Athlon II X4 640 and the Athlon II X2 260, which are only $2 each.

It is worth mentioning that the official price of Phenom II X4 980 BE was estimated to be set at 195 US dollars, which is the price before Phenom II X4 975 BE, but the figure given by AMD official price list is only 185 US dollars.
