Sony announces PSP go waiting for NGP

SCE Sony Computer Entertainment announced today that it will stop production and shipment of PSP go consoles from now on. In the future, only inventory products will be sold on the market.

PSP go was launched in November 2009. It changed the PSP handheld game distribution mode, canceled the UMD drive, built-in 16GB flash memory, and purchased games through the PlayStation Store online store. Its price was initially 249 US dollars, in October 2010 dropped to 199 US dollars.

However, after more than a year of market verification, Sony's efforts to discard the optical media and switch to the Internet download mode proved to be unsuccessful. PSP Go has not completed the task of replacing the PSP 1000/2000/3000. For the reasons for the suspension of production of the PSP go, SCE stated that “it is to fully prepare for the NGP that is expected to start selling from the end of the year”, but the PSP-3000 mainframe will continue to be produced and sold.
