Samueli said that in these three words, gigabit data rate connection (802.11ac) to the home is very important to the electronics industry. It changes the rules of the game in terms of carrier, system and home network; Gigabit to home is no doubt, DOCSIS 3.0 and ready, and will spread in the next three years. Gigabit data rates in the home network will be achieved through Ethernet, power lines, Gigabit wireless network connections and MoCA.
Samueli believes that although we are still far from achieving a gigabit wireless connection on the client, this will ultimately affect the zoning of mobile device chips.
Samueli predicts that gigabit data connections can be migrated to cloud processing to achieve, whether it is graphics rendering or display processing, is currently executed on the CPU of a client, which has prompted the industry to redefine how to design mobile phone CPU. Samueli said that the current chip companies are competing to add more processing cores to the chips of handheld devices.
