LED lighting will double in 2013

Leading LED industry Taiwanese manufacturers gathered at TILS 2013 in Taiwan Lighting Technology Fair, generally optimistic about the outlook for 2013.

Jingdian: This year, the amount of LED lighting will have doubled growth. Chairman Li Bingjie said that the amount of LED lighting will be doubled in 2013, which is expected to ease the pressure of falling prices. LED bulbs that replace 60W incandescent bulbs have been developed. US$19.99 was substantially revised down to US$12.99, and it is estimated that there will be a chance to see a sweet spot of US$10 at the end of the third quarter. He is optimistic that in the next five years, LED lighting will double every year, and the growth rate of annual output value will increase by 30%. It is estimated that by 2016, the proportion of backlight applications will be reduced from the current 50% to 30%, and the proportion of backlight and lighting will be equivalent.

Everlight: The government subsidy for the mainland has decreased, and the LED industry has gradually recovered its order. Yifu Ye, chairman of the Board of Directors, believes that as the government subsidy space in the mainland is reduced, the LED industry will gradually restore order. Everlight’s operating performance will be better than last year.

Longda Chairman Su Fengzheng pointed out that the penetration rate of LED backlighting for monitors and TVs will increase from 60% to 90%, LED usage will increase by at least 30%, and LED lighting will increase slowly.
