Electrical and electronic recycling may achieve record management

The Ministry of Commerce recently announced the “Administrative Measures for the Recycling of Waste Electrical and Electronic Products” (Draft for Comment), which will implement the filing management system for the recycling of waste electrical and electronic products and expect to end the chaotic operation in the industry.

This approach supports and encourages producers, sellers, maintenance organizations, and after-sales service organizations, as well as waste electrical and electronic product recovery subjects, waste electrical and electronic product processing companies, etc., and engages in the recycling of waste electrical and electronic products. At the same time, the management of the recycling of discarded electrical and electronic products shall be subject to the filing system. Any entity engaged in the electronic recycling of waste electrical appliances shall, within 30 days after obtaining the business license, register with the competent commercial authority at the same level of registration according to the principle of territorial management.

The county-level or above commerce administration department will be the record-keeping organ for recycling business activities. If the county-level government does not have a commerce administration department, the operator should register with the government commerce authority at the next higher level.
