Japan to Implement Renewable Energy Repurchase Electricity Prices in 2012

Japan plans to implement a renewable energy feed-in tariff repurchase program from April 2012 to promote the power sector to purchase more renewable energy power.

The Japanese government plans to submit relevant bills during the parliamentary meeting to promote the development of low-carbon electricity and support the development of clean energy markets.

At present, Japan requires ten power companies to purchase solar power for home use at a price of 48 yen (equivalent to RMB 3.85) per degree, and purchase electricity from a small-sized company at a price of 24 yen (equivalent to 1.93 yuan) per degree. Solar power. However, these power companies can distribute the additional costs evenly to consumers.

The existing stimulus plan will come into effect in April, and the new stimulus plan will be completed on the basis of some proposals that have just been approved by the government advisory group.

The following is the main content of Japan's new renewable energy stimulus plan that distinguishes it from the current stimulus plan:

In 2011-2012, 10 power companies can only purchase surplus solar power from small power generating units;

―Because of the drop in the price of solar panels, the solar power price to be paid by households will be reduced to 42 yen (RMB 3.37) per degree;

―The solar power price to be paid by small businesses will increase to 40 yen per unit (RMB3.2) to ease the government's cancellation of the subsidies for the installation of solar panels.

In 2012-2013 and in the future-In addition to the above 10 power companies, independent power producers also need to purchase renewable energy power;

―The requirement for purchase of renewable energy power will continue for 15 years;

― The program will cover solar, wind, biomass, small hydropower and geothermal energy, in addition to the excess solar power generated from the home;

― The on-grid tariffs for wind energy, small hydropower, biomass and geothermal energy are 15 Yen (RMB 1.2) or 20 Yen (RMB 1.6) per degree;

― The on-grid electricity price of solar energy will be determined later;

― The stimulus plan will not increase the cost of power companies, but will evenly distribute the increased costs to electricity consumers across the country.
