New LED lighting cooperation

Philips and the Royal Netherlands Football Association announced a three-year cooperation project. The core content of the project is to establish 90 solar "illumination centers" in Africa and South America. Each lighting center covers an area of ​​about 1,000 square meters, and lighting appliances are Philips' new generation of highly efficient solar LED lights.

The idea of ​​the project is to create a lighting area for remote areas that do not have electricity supply. This can enrich local people's life at night and create numerous social, sports and economic opportunities. These new lighting centers will promote and support the Royal Netherlands Football Association's "World Coaches" project in Africa and South America. The "World Coach" project aims to train football coaches in developing countries and use football to promote social development.

The first batch of lighting centers will be completed in early 2013. Some villages and towns are located in uncovered or semi-covered areas of the grid. Schools near these villages and towns will be the focal point for the construction of lighting centers (including some parts of the city).
