OSRAM launches new ready-to-use lens TopLED black series

OSRAM Opto Semiconductors introduces the new Top LED Black Series, the first TopLED in a black package that achieves a typical illuminance of 1.9 cd at 20 mA, which means it is as bright as a white packaged LED. And its contrast is higher and the reflection is less. Target applications for red and yellow LEDs are displays such as oil price displays and public transportation passenger information systems.

The new ready-to-use lens, the TopLED Black Series, delivers exceptional contrast and clarity in any lighting condition. Due to the black package, the incident light produces almost no reflection. Therefore, even in strong sunlight, the display with the black packaged LED can still display excellent results, and the contrast is high, and the viewing is clear and easy to read from a distance.

With a 60° beam angle, this LED is optimized for display applications and concentrates light for optimal viewing, making it an ideal replacement for traditional radial LEDs. This LED is currently the only black package LED with comparable luminous intensity to white packaged LEDs.

The TopLED Black Series will be available in both red and yellow versions. Thanks to the use of thin-film chips, excellent luminous efficiency is ensured. As a "surface emitter", a thin film LED emits almost all of the internally generated light from the surface.

As an SMT (Surface Mount Technology) component, this LED is suitable for automated processing, so it can be used to produce displays at a lower cost than radial LEDs. Typical applications include oil price display boards, station name displays for trams and buses, and various types of public transportation passenger information systems.

About OSRAM Opto Semiconductors

OSRAM is a subsidiary of Siemens Industry and one of the world's two largest light source manufacturers. Its subsidiary, OSRAM Opto Semiconductors (Regensburg, Germany), supplies its customers with semiconductor technology for lighting, sensors and visualization applications. solution. OSRAM Opto Semiconductors has production lines in Regensburg, Germany and Penang, Malaysia. Its North American headquarters are located in Sunnyvale, California, USA, and its headquarters in Asia is located in Hong Kong, and there are also branches around the world. OSRAM Opto Semiconductors has more than 4,600 employees. Total sales for the fiscal year ending September 2008 exceeded €529 million.

The new TopLED black series clearly displays price information. Even if the distance is very long, the driving speed is very fast, and there is direct sunlight on the price figure, the driver can also see if it is worth parking.
