Silan Micro launches a new generation of non-isolated LED lighting driver chip SD6900

Silan Microelectronics recently introduced a new generation of control chip SD6900 dedicated to non-isolated LED lighting drivers. The chip has built-in APFC, directly collects output current, and adopts closed-loop feedback control. It has high PFC, high constant current accuracy and high conversion efficiency. It can be widely used in various LED lighting applications such as bulbs and T5/T8 LED lamps. occasion.

Compared to the first generation (PPFC+peak sampling) and second generation (APFC+peak sampling) non-isolated drive solutions currently used in LED lighting, the SD6900 has the following innovations:

1 With very good current consistency, using Silan Micro's patented constant current control mode technology, the output current is directly collected, and the current is controlled by an error amplifier. The consistency can be within ±3%.

2 The chip can be used not only for narrow voltage but also for wide voltage. The SD6900 uses a unique constant current control mode. The input voltage can vary from 90V to 265V, and the output current varies by less than ±1%. A complete machine can solve two types of power supply.

3 The chip adopts floating technology, and uses Silan Microelectronics without auxiliary winding power supply technology to supply power through the inductor tap, which can effectively reduce the cost and reduce the requirements on the transformer.

In addition to the above features, the SD6900 also comes with a PFC control function that automatically achieves a high PF value in the full voltage range (full voltage input range PF>0.9). At the same time, the chip adopts the bottom-open mode, which can reduce the switching loss and improve the system conversion efficiency. In 18W applications, the conversion efficiency is higher than 93%.

In addition, the chip integrates various protection functions, including output open circuit protection, output short circuit protection, cycle-by-cycle overcurrent protection, over temperature protection and VCC overvoltage protection. Among them, LED short-circuit protection also uses Silan Micro's patented technology, which enables the chip to obtain extremely low output short-circuit protection power consumption (short-circuit power consumption <0.5W at 18W) under abnormal conditions of output short-circuit. Avoid damage to circuits and peripheral components. Based on the BiCMOS process independently developed by Silan Microelectronics, the SD6900 chip adopts the SOT-23 package form, featuring high integration, few peripheral components, and easy machine debugging.

In the non-isolated solution, Silan Micro will also launch a series of driver chips, mainly in the following varieties:

1 SD6901/02/03 integrated APFC, built-in MOS (Slan brand), can meet the needs of 3 ~ 30W power range;

2 SDH6904 built-in high-voltage start function, can meet the start-up time requirements below 0.2S;

3 SD6910 is a non-isolated driver chip with integrated APFC, buck-boost mode, which can meet the requirements of high output voltage.
