When the first-generation Mi Sweeper was released, it created a buzz similar to that of Xiaomi’s first smartphone. With high-end specifications, an efficient cleaning algorithm, and a price point of just 1,699 yuan, it quickly sold out and remained in short supply for several months. The demand was overwhelming, and even after half a year, the product was still highly sought after.
**Why was the first-generation Xiaomi Sweeper so popular?**
One key reason is that it was developed by Stone Technology, a core member of the Mijia ecosystem. Since its inception, Stone Technology has aimed to challenge global giants like iRobot’s Roomba 980. The Mi Sweeper offered more than 80% of the performance of top-tier models at less than one-third the price. This affordability, combined with strong performance, made it a hit among Chinese consumers.
What truly set it apart was its impressive user reception. On JD.com, it achieved an almost perfect 100% positive review rate. While there were some negative reviews, they were minimal in comparison. This level of satisfaction is rare in the Consumer Electronics space.
Excitingly, Stone Technology recently launched the second generation of the product through crowdfunding, rebranded as the "Stone Sweeper." Priced at 2,499 yuan—up by 800 yuan from the first generation—it introduced a new mopping function, allowing the robot to sweep and mop simultaneously. This feature promises to solve multiple cleaning tasks in one go.
To everyone's surprise, the crowdfunding goal was reached within just three minutes, with the progress bar hitting an astonishing 1,662%. It was a clear sign of strong consumer interest.
