The US Air Force is looking for companies that can design and manufacture 3-phase uninterruptible power supplies (UPS). The UPS is required to provide 480V AC power to a 100kVA equipment load within at least 30 minutes of power failure.
The Air Force Life Management Center ’s Operations Contract Department issued a source seeking notice for an uninterruptible power supply project (FA8601-13-T-0192ss). The power equipment company responding to the announcement should state that its products meet the necessary technical specifications and provide detailed product information to express a clear technical commitment, and should also include recent sales history such as the company the product is sold to.
For voltage, the UPS should provide three-phase 480V AC voltage at the source input and the target output; for the phase, the output voltage phase should match the input voltage phase.
The back of the battery of the system should be externally discharged lead acid; it has an anti-shock battery rack made of glass fiber or trimetal. The battery rack is coated with epoxy resin and connected to the hardware. It has an expected life of 20 years and can provide at least 100 at the end of life kVA. The design of the battery should include a design margin of 15% and an aging factor of 25%.
The UPS itself should be able to handle unbalanced phases; voltage drop or current drop is less than 5%; harmonic voltage and current are less than 5%; the battery has a floating equalizer output; internal solid-state transfer switch to switch power; external manual operation when the solid-state transfer switch is running Maintain the bypass; the final alarm output form is the relay output; the equipment warranty period is at least 1 year, and the use of level 1 ozone-depleting substances (ODS) is not allowed. The Air Force warned that this is not a formal request for consultation, and this request for information (RFI) cannot directly lead to the signing of a contract.
