Differences between China and foreign countries? Toshiba laptop recalled in Europe and the United States, Chinese users have to upgrade themselves!?

Toshiba has announced that it has recalled about 41,000 laptops in Europe and the United States. According to Toshiba, the overheating near the laptop's power plugs may cause the user to burn. However, Toshiba China stated that the same type of products in mainland China are not included in the recall, and users are advised to upgrade the BIOS to solve the overheating problem.

According to public information from the Consumer Product Safety Commission of the United States (CPSC), on September 2 local time, Toshiba announced that it recalled about 41,000 notebook computers globally. The model involved is

Satellite T135, SatelliteT135D, and SatelliteProT130.

This reporter learned that the three Toshiba notebooks involved in the recall in Europe and the United States have sales in mainland China. However, on the Toshiba China official website, the word "recall" was intentionally evaded. Toshiba Computer said, "There has been no report on this issue in mainland China," and the official website's recommendation to Chinese users is to "self-upgrade to a higher version of the BIOS."

Relevant person in charge of Toshiba China told the media that "recall" does not apply to China, and hopes that users will seize the time to download the test package to check the BIOS version. But people in the industry believe that it is not safe to solve the “fever” hidden trouble of the laptop by upgrading the BIOS: “The main problem lies in the hardware, and the components still need to be replaced to completely eliminate hidden dangers.”
