Japanese and Korean big manufacturers push 3D TV to compete in Taiwan market

Japanese factory SONY recently officially released BRAVIA 3D LCD TV in Taiwan, using LED backlight technology, and with 3D Blu-ray player BOP-S470 and 3D wireless Blu-ray home theater BDV-SF470.

It is reported that the newly launched 3D series TV series includes 40-inch and 46-inch two basic "NX710" series, 55-inch and 60-inch "NX810 series" and 52-inch and 60-inch "LX900" series.

SONY pointed out that by the end of 2010, the scale of the 3D TV market in Taiwan will reach 6,000, and SONY's goal is to seize 50% of the market share of Taiwan's 3D TV market.

It is understood that from the global point of view, SONY 2010 (accounting year to March 2011) global LCD TV shipments target is still unchanged 25 million units, of which 3D LCD TV shipments, the target of 10% ( That means 2.5 million units).

As for the LED backlight LCD TV penetration rate, SONY said that currently 30% of SONY's LCD TV shipments worldwide are LED backlight models. In Taiwan, 40% of the LED backlights are already available.

Samsung previously proposed that the global 3D TV shipment target for 2010 is 2 million units, but it has been upgraded to 2.6 million units, and has been launched in Europe, the United States, and Asia, in order to enhance Blu-ray 3D content. It also has exclusive cooperation with the animated film maker DreamWorks and the giant screen film production technology company IMAX.

As for Panasonic, it is estimated that by March 2011, Panasonic will sell 2,000 TV sets in Taiwan with a target of 2,000 units. The overall market size of 3D TV in Taiwan is less than 5,000 units this year. In 2010, the global 3D TV sales target was 1 million units.

LG also officially launched 3D TV in August this year. At that time, LG estimated that the global 3D TV sales target for this year was 1 million units. Among them, the 3D TV sales target in Taiwan was 1,000 units, and the estimated 3D TV market in Taiwan will reach 3,000 units in 2010.
