**Forbes China's "30 Under 30" Elite List for 2017 Highlights Young Innovators and Entrepreneurs**
On July 20, 2017, Forbes China unveiled its annual list of the "30 Under 30" in China, spotlighting 300 exceptional individuals under the age of 30 across 10 distinct fields. These young talents are reshaping industries and setting trends across the country. Among them, many are entrepreneurs who have already secured venture capital, demonstrating their potential to drive change.
The report highlights that 90% of these nominees are entrepreneurs, and a staggering 80% have received venture funding. Interestingly, over 80% of the honorees hail from Kitasaoka, with an average age of just 27. Some of the youngest participants include Wang Yuan and Yi Qianlong of TFBOYS, the popular singing group.
This year’s list features a diverse array of young leaders, including post-90s professors, hospital researchers, museum founders, bestselling authors, and even Olympic champions like Zhang Jike. The categories span Entertainment & Sports, Social Enterprise & Education, Corporate Technology, Consumer Technology, Advertising & Media, Industry & Energy, Environment, Healthcare & Science, Finance & Venture Capital, and Art, Lifestyle, Food, Beverage, Retail & E-commerce.
According to Forbes, the 2017 "30 Under 30" list aims to celebrate young entrepreneurial leaders and innovators who have made significant strides in their respective fields and possess the potential to transform the world over the next 50 years. Since its inception in 2011, the list has recognized global luminaries like Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg and NBA star LeBron James. This year, Forbes China has labeled this cohort of young Chinese leaders as the ones who will "define the future."
To compile the list, Forbes China reviewed approximately 1,700 candidates from mainland China. A panel of over 30 judges evaluated these nominees based on their influence, achievements, and innovative contributions. Notable judges included Sun Cui, CEO of Ctrip, Shen Nampeng, founding partner of Sequoia Capital China, artist Zhou Tiehai, and musician Hu Haiquan.
Forbes China Editor-in-Chief Kang Jian expressed pride in the entrepreneurial spirit displayed by today’s youth. He noted, "Young people in China are highly entrepreneurial compared to their counterparts elsewhere. Their familiarity with technology and capital, combined with excellent educational backgrounds and international acumen, positions them as a powerful force for China’s future growth."
In addition to the announcement, the Shenzhen Futian District People’s Government and Forbes China signed a collaboration agreement to host the "First Forbes China Under 30 Elite Summit" on October 25, 2017. This summit will bring together the honorees from the "30 Under 30" list to discuss trends and opportunities shaping the future.
As China continues to evolve, these young visionaries are not only redefining industries but also setting a new standard for global innovation. Their stories inspire us to imagine what the next 50 years might hold.
