[Introduction]: Recently, the list of partners of the "10 Almighty UAV Project" organized by the US Department of Transportation was released. Dajiang Amazon was delisted. The list includes Alphabet, Qualcomm, and Microsoft.
The large amount of data generated by the project will be used to help the Federal Aviation Administration develop regulatory measures and regulations for large-scale applications of drones. The FAA must also answer questions before the start of the project, such as whether the drone can be shuttled through the city streets when it is delivered.
Virginia Tech, one of the winners of the project, said that Project Wing, AT&T, Intel, Airbus, and Dominion Resources of Alphabet are partners in the school's drone program. Together with these companies, we will explore the application of drones in express delivery, emergency management, and basic equipment inspection.
The winning entries for this competition were selected from 149 applicants from California, Nevada, Tennessee, North Dakota, and Kansas.
Flirtey, a drone delivery startup from Nevada, said the company is one of four winning teams, including Virginia Tech. Flirtey said in a statement that the company and its government partners "can obtain rapid regulatory approvals to carry out their human resource-saving drone delivery business."
US Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao said the demand for drones is growing rapidly. She said the government must "enhance supervision" to ensure that drones can be used safely.
She believes that there are “no losers†in this drone competition, and dozens of unselected applicants will be given a green light by the FAA in the coming months.
Amazon, the company that hopes to send express delivery through drones in the future, regrets that its team's work has not been selected, but it still supports the US Department of Transportation's project.
Brian Huseman, senior vice president of public policy at Amazon, said: "We are focused on developing a safe drone model, and we will continue this work until it is implemented."
When asked why the Ministry of Transportation did not choose Amazon and DJI innovation, Jeff Rosen, deputy director of the Ministry of Communications, said: "There are no losers, they are all winners. This project is to integrate the drone process. An important step."
Both Microsoft and Qualcomm are exploring the use of drones in public safety, commerce, and emergency response to prepare for future drone commercial use.
The unicorn from China, Dajiang, provided more than a dozen entries, and regretted it, but there are no doubts about the example of Dajiang in the field of drones.
On December 6th, 2018, Dajiang Science and Technology will attend the China IoT Conference hosted by Electronic Enthusiasts. At the meeting, we will share the prospects and application cases of the agricultural plant protection drone market. We want to participate in the Dajiang style and sign up .
