On February 17, 2014, Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. (NYSE: VSH) announced the launch of seven new 45V and 50V devices, expanding its TMBS Trench MOS Barrier Schottky rectifier line. These high-current density rectifiers are ideal for automotive and commercial applications, offering current ratings from 3A to 8A, with a low forward voltage drop in a compact surface-mount DO-221BC (SMPA) package.
The latest rectifier features a forward voltage drop of 0.37V at 3A and a height of just 0.95mm. It enhances efficiency and reduces power loss in low-voltage, high-frequency DC/DC converters, switching power supplies, freewheeling diodes, and polarity protection circuits. Three 45V models are AEC-Q101 certified for automotive use, while four 50V versions are suitable for commercial applications, especially in smartphones and tablets.
The new rectifier has a maximum operating junction temperature of +150°C, is rated at MSL level 1 per J-STD-020, and can withstand a peak reflow temperature of 260°C. It is compatible with automated pick-and-place equipment and complies with RoHS Directive 2011/65/EU and JEDEC JS709A for halogen-free compliance.
