Want to be the brightest queen on the party? An engineer named Bertho Stoltiens shared his design of the shiny earrings Blinkring, which has a 31mm diameter earring with a total of 12 LEDs . The concept of this earring is based on a standard Cr2032 button-type battery with a slightly larger circular printed circuit board (PCB). A small circuit board outside the battery is equipped with the required parts for LED operation.

Stoltiens encountered some challenges in carrying out this design because he not only had to think about the aesthetics of the battery, but also added a switch that would make it easy for the wearer to operate. The clamp-shaped battery holder is made of a paper clip. According to Stoltiens, the small curvature on the battery holder provides a very sufficient spring effect to allow the battery to be tightly coupled to the battery holder. On the other side of the board is a user interface switch. It also adopts the structure of the back stitch, and the two sides look very elegant.

Stoltiens said in his personal blog that the next version of the earring design will use off-the-shelf switchgear; the switch now is very labor intensive.
